thought of something today concerning rock throwing. Could it be possible that many of these instances are simply alarmed deer stomping their hooves. Whitetail deer will do this when spooked but cannot identify the animal that spooked them. They try to ID what spooked them by getting it (me) to move. As soon as they figure out your a person they're gone. Up close this "thump" sounds exactly like a rock hitting soil. This obviously doesn't account for people who see actual rocks.

I've been in the dark getting to a treestand and have had deer less then 20ft away blowing, snorting, wheezing, and stomping. I can see if someone wasn't familiar with these sounds and Sas on the brain getting pretty freaked out.

hi micmac good evening ive seen alot reports of sasquatch creatures throwing rocks at himans at as defence tatic not harm. most of the reports of rock throwing are mentioned in the bfro database and various books about sasquatch etc. thanks bill smile.gif

Most reports say the rocks hit fairly close. Rather than stomp its foot, I think a deer would run if it were that close.

Hi Bill

Just thought I 'd let you know I'm a native New Englander myself. I grew up in Vermont but now reside in Virginia. I spent my chidhood in the woods up there (not much else to do) but I never saw any Bigoot sign.

have a great night

Most rock throwing reports actually are pretty specific in the rock landing close. I've been with in 10 ft of deer stomping. I don't think someone would confuse it with a rock. Good speculation though.

mimac,

I live in Virginia too! Do you live near Bull Run Mountain, or Prince William Forest Park?

Deer stomping?...Bears "hiking" rocks? ...Rockfalls?
Doesn't seem even remotely plausible according to this and other similar reports:
http://www.bfro.net/GDB/show_report.asp?id=1553
Seems an entirely plausible and possible way for the creature to communicate "Go the he** away."
And I'm not aware of any reports of anyone being hit by apparently thrown rocks.
But I bet they could...but they're not...

Hey I live in Virginia too. Southern Virginia south of Roanoke to be more exact. Where are the rest of the Virginians from in the State?

Hey guys, I don't live in Virginia.

I do live where the wind comes rushing across the plains, football is played the way it was meant to be done, the woods are thick, the girls are pretty and the weather is always nice for squathing. cool.gif

JVD,

I live up by leesburg. I think Bull Run is fairly close. Isn't it down by Manassas?
Josh Willard
Yes it is by Manassas. I live in the next county beside Leesburg. Prince William County.

I think it probably could be.... Just my opinion.
