In this story off the bestest's web site I believe that he is claiming to be the Point pleasant Moth Man. Check it out icon_abduct.gif

1/29/02 NEW THEORY THAT CAN WORK!
WHO AND WHAT WAS "MOTHMAN" ????
Despite the delusions of a Maine teen-suicide consultant, there is no proof that
Mothman (ref Mothman Phrophesies, the movie) was ever a real biological being at all. (Same goes for Big Bird, and mystery super-condors). No bones, no body, not even a videotape.
But witnesses were seeing something in the sky in the late 60's at Point Pleasant,WVA. Generally, a man in grey, with glowing red eyes....usually in the air ... wings not fluttering .... but harming no one.
But what?
The answer is to be found in the so-called OOBE -- "Out Of Body Experience" studied
by parapychologists for years.
It is felt by some, including test subjects, that they "go somewhere" during sleep.
That their mind, or part of it, leaves the body and travels... to the roof, to next door, to some other part of the country or even to outer space. And WHOOSH, returns
in an instant when the cat licks your face. This can explain the often vivid draeams one has where everything "seemed so real"...and also dreams of flying...
subjects report soaring and pushing off the tops of hills to get to the next hill, looking down and seeing people looking up.....
Hence -- Mothman. For if you do leave the body, what do you LOOK like? Maybe a man with wings... even an angel, or, if on land, maybe Bigfoot, or in water, a Nessie. It even explains who makes the English crop circles -- we do! Dreamers, using psycho-kinesis as they do an OOBE in the fields.
And when a witness slams a door, zoom! Back into the body. (This happens often to
Loch Ness Monster witnesses... slamming a car trunk...(boot)...zap - Nessie disappears.)
Some subjects report going to visit friends in need, ill friends, even to "attend"
funerals they cannot otherwise travel to.
Mothman appeared close to a time when the local bridge was soon to fail. This writer lived in Washington,DC, and had visited Point Pleasant and its bridge, thinking at the time that there was an abnormal shaking to it. A point of concern for those in danger.
This writer also dreamed he was flying on some occasions, in or near Point Pleasant. Other details are foggy as usually such are. But he remembers looking down at a road, and seeing people looking up.
As the writer on OOBEs (Robert Monroe -Journeys Out of the Body - 1973 - Anchor Books) once said --- "They were looking up at me, and I remember thinking that I wondered what I looked like to them..."
The answer is Mothman, Batsquatch of Oreon,or Owlman of Cornwall,UK, or the Kangamoto of Africa, or Big Bird (condor type) in Texas.
So -- I was Mothman. Sorry if I scared anyone... but that bridge...it was not safe....had to tell...

What a loon...

I apologize in advance to the loons for the above comment.

Whaaaaaaaaaaa.....aaaaattt? icon_really_happy_guy.gif Whatever he's on, it must be pretty strong stuff. Maybe he's confusing an OOBE with an acid trip. blink.gif dry.gif

One of the interesting things that came out of the UnConconvention was that when coleman interviewed people in point pleasant, not one of them apparently mentioned that it looked like a man-bird of any kind - all the witnessed described it as a large bird, the size of a man.

I guess we (and the tabloids) are too quick to put our own spin on things.

Could someone please wake me up & tell me I didn't read what I read, while I was out of body sleep.gif blink.gif

Good Afternoon Footers, I am awake now!

Here's the question I have, if lets say this guy is Mothman then what about the times this guy was not sleeping & these people saw Mothman. Does he have somekind of log to show that when they saw Mothman it was him because he was asleep in a trance etc. etc. icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif Could someone find my bottle of no-dozzzzzz !!

I'm sure if you asked for one he could produce it!
Ella
Erik will say anything, any time, anywhere. He has histrionic personality disorder and must have center stage no matter what. If he says he's Mothman, fine with me, since I don't even believe in Mothman and think Mothman is a 24-carat HOAX. With describes EB to a T. icon_really_happy_guy.gif icon_clown_v2.gif laugh.gif biggrin.gif
Maggie
I havent been here too long, i think Bipto let Erik on one more time after i was here? (Should have paid more attention icon_redface.gif ) But the posts i did read....oookay. I am not trying to be harsh, but does he really believe what he says?
bipto
Beckjord has graced us with his presence twice, which is two times too many. He will never return (and RobUstes can quote me on that!).
Ella
Maggie, I'm afraid Erik does believe most of what he says. He also changes his mind like most people change their clothes--whatever is convenient for him at the moment and according to his mood at the time. He can't stand me and I never anything to him but call him on his s......(fill in the blank). He's a bit unstable if you ask me. biggrin.gif icon_razz.gif icon_confused.gif icon_mad.gif laugh.gif

Who knows Maggie...he changes his mind so often, he either has multiple personalities that each believe something different or he just takes too many meds and can't remember what he believed last. blink.gif

Or so it's been said.

Me thinks Sir EB should retire.
In the late 60's thru the 70's attention was a major high for Cedric.
The indescribible dribble wink.gif he has produced is long lived but still as outrageous as in the beginning.

Like I've said before
Education can be a dangerous thing.

Scotch, and other mind altering spirits have enhanced his dodo to multiple levels.

He thrives on attention.

Has anyone ever concidered the the "MOTHMAN" may have similarities to ANGEL appearances of some?
I'm not into that or paranormal but curious.

LISA, LISTEN UP! You're a fine, dedicated researcher with your own successful organization. You're been publicly recognized by Craig Woolheater and Chester Moore, Jr., who are two of the very tops in every respect in the Bigfoot field. The person you refer to, who is your good friend--well, he's a friend of mine too. He and I have our differences of opinion, but big fat hairy deal--he has the good sense not to let his feelings get in the way of his convenience, whether anyone agrees with him or not. And he doesn't allow his message board to become a war zone, so he has his share of wisdom, too. He won't stoop to the level of those who indulge in name-calling for lack of a sufficient vocabulary with which to express themselves.

Lisa, a lot of unenlightened people mistake kindness for weakness and polite, professional behavior as "heinie-kissing." I don't want anything to do with such people. Trying to discuss anything with them is a dysfunctional challenge. But I know I don't need to tell you this, as you been knowing that for a long time.

Like I told Chester before he became as famous as he is now, and growing more and more recognized and well-known as we speak: Any time you achieve success in this field, and with it the inevitable public exposure, you are gonna have detractors who, no matter what they say, are resentful of the recognition you get. There are those who are envious of Chester because he is such a spectacular public figure. What they don't acknowledge is that Chester works ceaselessly on the issue of environmental protection for wildlife, up to and including Bigfoot, he has a great and definite purpose in life, and anyone lucky enough to know him and benefit from his work should be grateful, not envious.

Unstable? If these name-calling, self-centered, self-absorbed folks are stable, then I don't want to be stable, I want to be unstable. Case closed. laugh.gif cool.gif icon_confused.gif icon_mad.gif wink.gif

Ella
Hey Paul! I'm still here, I just don't do the message boards anywhere near like I used to. Especially since I've been working at night, starting at 11, and sleep all afternoon till about 9:30 or so. I do it because the difference is the day shift and night shift in pay is extreme. For day shift, I averaged about $16 per hour. On nights, it's about $25 per hour. I'm not greedy, just needy, and I usually only work about six hours per night. Now that I'm old, I have had to slow down for sure. Wish I could retire, but that's a nice fantasy.

Anyway, what we're agreeing to is that Erik has a personality disorder. I'm not a doctor, of course, but I feel that he has a narcissistic/histrionic personality disorder. Unfortunately, the condition is not treatable. But a lot of drunkards show the exact same symptoms, and people say he has drinking problem. I hope he does and that drinking is the cause of his behavor. Otherwise, there is little hope for him to ever change. icon_confused.gif A lot of people say he's a sociopath, too, but that's awful harsh. I think he just believes the whole world revolves around him, like a spoiled brat. icon_confused.gif

For a real treat, go to the Lou Gentile radio show archives and listen to him in all his glory. The show is from Tuesday, October 16, 2001.
Lou Gentile

I sat there listening to the whole thing Craig.after awile I thought/wondered if it would ever end.I don't know as I'd call it a treat so much as comic relief effort on Gentiles part.I just kept waiting for him to call EB on some of his "theories".Know if theres anywhere to find Lou's thoughts or writings about his guests after the interview ?There are some others in his archives that are interesting to listen to also.imo.
