I'm sure everyone has read the story, or seen the pic of the white colored "Lake Worth Monster," but there is an auction on ebay for a book that includes a wallet sized picture of it. I have seen this before, but blown up and of not good quality. This picture on this auction is the best I've seen of it. So, check it out at:

I've seen the pics and read the story.
If anything was there.... it's not there anymore. Either it died, or moved on further north.

I don't totally believe the LW Monster story.

I know a guy who grew up in that area during that time frame, and he said: 'I can assure you, many people who spent a lot of time at the Lake during that period in History were seeing many strange things.'

Hi Bill! Good to hear from you! That's a good question, about sightings and research in that area. I adjusted the levels on this photo to separate the light and dark colors a bit to see what it may be, you can see the grass and brush in the back a little better. I think the longer I stare at it I start seeing shapes such as squatch faces and such, kind of like seeing shapes in clouds, just for fun. But it does look pretty cottony! Here's the original photo from the link:

None reported to me. There really isn't anything to see any more. It's changed quite a bit sense the 60's. Lockheed Martin and several bases are located out here. Greer Island is small. If he's on there, I'm sure he would have been heard or even seen by now. There is quite a few hidden roads and many people live in that area..... To get to it, one has to take a boat. There is the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge located
just South of Eagle Moutain lake. Like I said before, if he existed, he has moved further north. My opinion only... I think there is either one or two sightings in Wise County.... And surrounding counties.

Now what was reported to me, was an incident out by Weatherford.....Parker County, I think. A Friend of my son had an Uncle who's parents had own some acreage outside of Weatherford. They had heard screams coming from the tree line just outside the back door. They went to check to see what it was, and a huge hair covered being jumped from the tree on two legs and ran from them... Needless to say, they didn't follow it. Far as I know they sold the farm and haven't heard anything else coming from Weatherford.

I always take a minute to go, "Hmmmm..."
whenever there are multiple witnesses to an incident....

jee whiz, lake worth monster was a buncha dope smoking hippies scaring themselfs. its a story, a STORY.

in fact, to this day, Lake Worth and Ft Worth and dallas and pretty much anything north of interstate ten hasnt even been proven to EXIST. its a wives tale that Houston mothers tell their kids to make em behave.

"you better be good or we will have to move to dallas"

I think it’s “Willie” the “White Werewolf” carrying “Winkie,” his “widdle bwak teddie-bear” off to bed… happy.gif

Well, the book she wrote looks pretty interesting to me. Did anyone check out the page images of it? I think the story is a little more than some might believe...she even mentions 3 people taking 4 photos of it in her letter! (so where are they? icon_bang.gif ) And the newspaper headline tells of something more than just a "crazy story." Here's what they had online, but they jpegs weren't very big. I will also see what I can find in the newspaper archives from that time.

And what I found in the archives...of course I didn't find this one before I made the damn book! icon_bang.gif

Looks like an updated version will have to be created! blink.gif

Hello all,

I live in Hurst, TX, which is a little suburb of Ft. Worth between Ft. Worth and Dallas.

Hope I can post these images correctly.

Here are a few pics of Greer Island as it exists today.

This one is the entrance to the little land bridge that leads to Greer Island.

Hopefully I posted the images correctly. As to the story of the Lake Worth Monster I wouldn't know what to believe as I'm only 34 and wasn't around yet in 69.

This is a great board by the way, I've read it a lot lately but don't know why I have never posted.

Well I think I fouled everything up trying to put the images up here, but if anyone wants to see them here is the url:

Sorry you guys! icon_bang.gif

Not a problem nightscream. You have to be in the members group to post pictures, but keep posting and you'll get there. wink.gif
