Hey, i have finally made it to the forums sections of this website. Literally thousands of people from this website have been asking me quistions about my articles on sylvanic and my website www.sylvanic.com. So instead of answering the 6 thousand email quistions i have received i thought i would just get out here to the source of all this attention i have been getting and talk one on one. My name is Todd Standing and i documented the majority of chronicles on the website as well as led the expidition that shot the video that is currently getting so much attention, and collected the hair sample that foresic experts identified as an unknown species. What is new is a botanist that visited sylvanic last year seems to have found a new species of plant life. And the video from the website has been profesionnally enhanced to show an set of eyes lurking behind the trees and a enormous bipedal dark figure running in the background.

Today however the main reason i am here is one of my readers said there was a person they met here on this website that recognized the missing person composite drawing on my website. That person was trying to email me but my mail box is constanly overfilling. That police composite drawing on the website is real. I know it looks like a 14 year old artist drew it but that is what police composite drawings looked like in the 1930's. If you think you might now that person please keep trying to send me an email through the website and mark it Missing Person. I have the fingerprints of that person and if you know someone that fits that description that went missing around that same time then perhaps i can help you find out what really happen to them. The native elders that told me the story of how that man went missing(Which is documented on the website) is very certain those three men went into sylvanic and never came out again.

Of course i would love to hear from everyone with your quistions, comments, thoughts, and concerns reguarding Sylvanic.

Hi! Sorry, but... which video would that be?
Yetifan
1) The video looks like a wannabe Blair Witch Project type promo. 2) the audio "growl" sounds like it's been dubbed in. Sorry, but it has the feel of Cornball City.

Thanks for all your comments. I am a little suprized to see most of you have never heard of sylvanic. The majority of hits i recieve on my website come from this website so i was hoping to speak with people that where interested in knowing more about sylvanic.
To answer 1 ? about where sylvanic is... The best estimate i can give is northern US, southern Canada. When i go back this summer we intend to use GPS to map out its location.

Maybe sylvanic is actually a parallel universe, or maybe it has a few extra dimensions. I suggest investigating that with an interdimensional interpherometer. It's saved my butt more than once. wink.gif

Hello rockinkt, you seem to think i am a fraud because i claim to have shot that 38MB footage on a 3.2 mega pixel camera. Cause that is impossible?
Well just so you know smart guy the memory card is where the data is stored and my memory card is 256MB. This is common knowledge.
I was looking for some inteletual comments or prudent scientific knowledge on this forum. If some anyone out there has something inteligent to say i would love to hear it.

I kinda like the video...it's at least as good as the Manitoba video! LOL Even if it doesn't have a bigfoot in it...then again, neither does the manitoba video, as far as I'm concerned.

From just reading the first page of the website, Sylvanic sounds like Shangri-La in the Himalayas. Have you ever seen "Lost Horizon"? biggrin.gif

You are right, too - that "police drawing" is really childish-looking. I'm not sure what your point is? People go missing all the time, nearly everywhere. new_thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

However - you are still full of it. You did not shoot the film according to your narrative - the "woman" did.

Is Sylvanic a make-believe place, or is it actually recognized somewhere on a map?

The only Google returns seem to point to the information on your own website.

I'm not trying to run anyone off, but we have to be a little skeptical about how vague this website is. I'm sorry, but that's the truth.

I asked about Shangri-La because it isn't a real place, only a legendary city that supposedly "moves around." Without any context, maps, mentions of highways, towns or anything, why should we believe this place exists?

I have a question about the name "Sylvanic."

http://www.sylvanic.com/disappearance.htm

QUOTE
The English man asked then who did the valley belong to? And at the time we did not know how to explain suvanic to this man, which as far as I know is a word that originates from my tribe. There is no translation for this word in the any other language. The best way to explain it in English would be “Shadows guardians of the mountain. The English man looked up this word in his dictionary and found the word sylvatic, which he though was a fitting name for the place. But our medicine man repeated suvanic, so the white man obliged him and called the place sylvanic. The word has always stuck with me and now my sons call the valley sylvanic. I still have the old dictionary the English man used to look up the term sylvatic, which has his initials J.P.G. on the front page.

Why do you prefer a Latinized form of "slyvan" which means "of the forest"? Most Native speakers prefer their own language. I live in an area with alot of Cherokee place names, and Native speakers probably wish there were more, not less.

And the part about the bigfoot sighting of the two men would be good, except that you say from the beginning that they men were drunk and trying to forget their troubles. How drunk were they?

I have no problem with you trying to keep a place secret, but when you say that even the police couldn't find an entrance to the valley, it just seems a little too mysterious. Don't they have topographical maps where you are? I guess it would be too much to ask that you put one on your website, huh? wink.gif

Also, how close is this place to other Bigfoot sightings? That is a basic piece of the puzzle that adds credibility to many sightings.

I think you are being narrow minded and missing the single most important element of this entire Sylvanic web site and video. All you great investigators and analysts seem to have missed the fact that the girl on the video sounds really really cute and before this thread goes any further we need to see “her” … not more ??? video. :yuck:

Get your priorities straight people. Look for the value in something and here the value lies in the possibility that this female who actually gets outside in the winter and goes hiking may possibly be cute … or at least healthy enough to walk and talk at the same time and not scream when snow falls from a branch. Here in NY that puts her in the top 10% for desirability. new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

I want to know why a 30 second video clip (in small window size) is 38 FRIGGING MEG??? Do NOT waste your time downloading it, I'll summarize:

1. A chick points to some tracks in the snow
2. We hear an obviously dubbed-in growl, and said chick acts (and acts badly) frightened
3. Someone shakes snow off a tree
4. You wonder why you wasted 15 minutes downloading it

I can only suggest that if you want to make a "Blair Witch" type film it might help if you use some reality to mix in with the fiction.

When you start off by talking about a legend from "tribal elders" and you give nothing concrete about who this tribe is and where you got your info it looks really lame. The tribes all have a language and names and there are real people who can be spoken to.

There have been a few great films silmilar to Blair Witch. My fave is THE LAST BROADCAST.

But to try to repeat their successes with a made-up "tribal legend" and attempt to start a web buzz by going to a bigfoot forum full of people who already know intricate information on such things collected from around the globe over the centuries - is just asking for trouble.

Flame on. :blacknblue:

Nice try, but I'd simply sell it as a fictional film project and forget about trying to repeat the Blair Witch scenario. JMO

I think he's just trying to get some grassroots pub going for a movie/book. I thought the premise was really cool, albeit a bit sophmorically executed. I'd love to see a reql story teller/moviemaker do something along the same specific lines though...it sounds like the place could be geographically feasible (Hell, I've seen some hollers in just WV that are bordreline impassable on foot).

It's certainly not on the map, but it has a long history in legend, both white and Native. This "valley" has a history among "white men". I only write as one who has heard the legends.

There have been many legends of a "tropical" valley in the northern regions of BC. One would think that it would have been "discovered" by now.

But, then, a little exposure to this website should illustrate that "discovery" is beholden to many things.

Without delving deep into this particular thread or it's originator, I will say that it has the potential to expose many people into just one of the many mysteries of the North.

With legends come BS (a good portion of "legends" come with BS).

But something started the legend.

I'll reserve judgement.
