Full Version: The Mo-Mo Lounge

There is a nightclub in Sacramento, CA called the Mo-Mo Lounge, named after the Missouri Monster. (reported to be about 12 feet tall from the news articles I've read)

And maybe you've seen an article on one of the websites about an old fruit box label that was named "California Giant", it had artwork of a Bigfoot carrying a box of fruit. I think that label is from the 1930's or something.

I just find it interesting that references to Bigfoot are all around us and have been for quite some time. It seems Bigfoot is quite a legend in some areas. Isn't it true most legends find their origins in fact?

Right here in Minnesota there's a place called Giant's Ridge where a great golf course has been built. I have always wondered if it was an old name (and if it was, what giants are they referring to) or if it was just clever marketing...

If you guys are interested in commercialized bigfoot, then all ya need to do is drive down the highway through Willow Creek, CA!!!! Bigfoot everything.....then the Avenue of the Giants (Redwoods) has all kinds of bigfoot names for its various enterprises....

I traveled through there last summer, which is one of the events that piqued my interest in "bigfoot".

OH, now I remember what I REALLY wanted to say......

I think more telling than any commercial use of "bigfoot" type beings is the names of creeks, meadows, mountains, and other geographical areas in N. CA, OR, and WA.....skookum meadows, bigfoot creeks, sasquatch mountains or canyons, etc. abound......these places were named prob in the 1800's or maybe even by the indians.....now THAT is some history for this "legend".

OH, and we have booger bottoms and valleys in the South icon_razz.gif .

PS THIS particular thread might actually belong out in the main area..this IS about bigfoot  !

Oh yeah, good point. I'll move it...

Oh yea! Bigfoot Burgers, Bigfoot Motel, Bigfoot T-shirts, etc. My kids nearly broke me one weekend there. But what a great place.
