From "Dark Horizons" media news site, the guys who made "Napolean Dynamite" are going to make a sasquatch movie.

Link Here.

Those guys grew up in rural Idaho - so they probably have a longtime interest in the subject.

Hey, it can't be any worse than "They Call Him Sasquatch"......

Here's another link to the story on Comingsoon.net:

[Movies] 'Napoleon' Crew Reuniting For "Sasquatch Dumpling Gang"
Posted By Ashish on 05.13.05

What a name!

Many of the people behind "Napoleon Dynamite" are reuniting for a new film called "The Sasquatch Dumpling Gang." 'Napoleon' writer/director Jared Hess will executive produce the project, while Tim Skousen, who served as first assistant director on 'Napoleon', has written and will direct the feature. Other members of the crew, including: Jeremy Coon (Producer), Munn Powell (Director of Photography), and Cory Lorenzen (Production Designer) will serve their respective roles on the project.

The comedy will be about many groups that come together to search for the Sasquatch.

I merged the two threads on this. wink.gif

They may have to get me to play myself, since Arnold is busy playing politics out there on the left coast.

I only pray that the script doesn't contain anything about a "Bigfoot Forum" for the gang to constantly seek out online.

I can see it now.... nerd boys with a belief in a mythical ape get together and act out all the cliche's: The redneck hunter/killers shooting everything in sight. The goofy psuedo-scientific jargon. The debate over the PG film and the ensuing battles. Don't forget "armchair" vs. "in-the-field" researchers and Killer Sas vs. flower-picking Harry insights.

Probably a heart-felt ending as our hero with a heart of gold realizes that there are more things in life than chasing after a mirage and going as crazy in the head as that character with the funny accent.

God, I hope there is at least some nudity and one good disembowelment. But that's just me.

I have to say that I absolutely loved "Napoleon Dynamite," especially the part that he reads about the Loch Ness Monster! Between that and the scene with the brother in the panelled living room/kitchen on the computer - well, let's just say that "Kip" and I are soulmates, lol. My children died laughing about that house and that computer - OMG!

Anyway, I made a remark a few weeks ago that it was amazing to me that the writer of that movie didn't mention Bigfoot, since it was filmed in Idaho with many local people and actors. Where was Bigfoot?

So when I read that they were making a movie about it, it just seemed perfect. As long as the Bigfoot community can take the jokes, lol.

The article mentions "several" groups of Bigfoot hunters, and I thought it meant:
One group with high-tech cameras/microphones/night-vision goggles
One group of teenagers prowling around the woods looking for "nests"
One group of hunters who want to shoot one

And all of them totally serious about what they are doing! Oh - I hope they use the same actors! That Rex Qwan Do guy would be perfect, lol. popcorn2.gif

I can just see the Napoleon Dynamite kid measuring a footprint or taking some poop home with him! icon_really_happy_guy.gif

The first production photo is in.

I must say - the creature looks very convincing to me.

A clip has surfaced: http://www.planetpoint.com/visualmusic/reel24.html One of the law enforcement officers that investigates some tracks/scat is named Chilcutt! :new_lmaosmiley:

"...I don't have any skills!"

You know... Like hooting skills, or truck shaking skills. Chicks want guys with skills..."

PedroSquatch:
"Maybe you should make her a stick teepee or something..."

This moving sounds great... I wonder if Jack Black/Tenacious D will make an appearance?

JB just got done working with this same director/producer crew on Nacho Libre that comes out in a week....
