Hey Saily,
I think you meant
bear with me not
bare with me.
Nice map

Do you have a list of the sightings to go with it? Kind of hard to tell if something is missing if I can't x-ref to a actual location and date.
What sources did you use for the map? Just curious where the list came from.
Again nice work

Yes I meant bear....it just looks weird spelled that way. Yes I have a sightings list that I have had for about 5 years now and I have been getting these form the sources books, BFRO, GCBFO, and Oregon Bigfoot, and just about every other BF site on the internet. I just record them on a map so I can see what areas are high BF sighting regions. I have most of the dates as well and other detail I can post them when I have more time to type because it is a LONG list!!!!!!!!

There are actually alot of WI sightings.....I was surprised when I started this map and list. I have around 40 for the past 10 years or so. And that is just ones that I know of that have been recorded somewhere. If you look at the map they are spred out alot too.....the main areas I think are: Price county Park Falls area and Jackson/Clark counties. These counties have multiple sightings which COULD be the same Bigfoot moving around, but I feel if there is one there is probably more close by.

Great job! I do samething myself on Illinois map from several websites and books sighting reported in Illinois. I marked red circle on exactly location and nearest town. Small circle is one report, bigger circle for more than two reports, etc. I used blue circles for mystery cats. I like Stream Map of Illinois Copyright 1999 by Vivid Publishing, Inc. hi sailgirl good evening thats a wonderful map of wisconsin i like how you pinpointed the sightings over the years is this for a study for a possible sasquatch migration route in wisconsin. you should do make a graph chart to show amount of sightings footprint etc that have been over the years and post it on this thread. are you thinking about writing a book about the wisconsin sasquatch or a documentary. thanks bill green please keep me posted. p.s. do you ever get possible photos of sasquatch creatures from your state and not blobsquatches.

Great stuff! Could I suggest something that may shed further light on where these animals may be hanging out? Why not do the same thing with a topographical map. It might show a common denominator in where the WI sassies look for when they move around. It might also shed some light on what terrain they move through.
Once again - great job!

Nice job! Second one clearer than the first.. Probably what would really nail it is a little visual "key" at the bottom - ie your "red dot" = Sasquatch Sightings. Perhaps that's why people didn't all see it at first - they didn't equate the symbols as being something that wasn't already part of the map.

Nice map. Good work. The red dots are much easier to see clearly. What I will say though is that I find it hard to accept that something like a Sas has been seen so close to a big city like Milwaukee. That's hard to get my head around.

Do you know what the countyside/ terrain is like in that particular area? It just seems weird to me.
sailgirl
Apr 28 2005, 05:15 PM
The closest sighting to Milwaukee is actually Pewaukee. There is a large lake here with some swampy areas near by.....an area about 15 miles from the sighting is actually very wooded/remote with rivers, small lakes and swampy areas here....this is were the BF was probably coming from would be my GUESS. It wasn't acutally that close to the city, approximately 10-12 miles. It just looks closer on the big map. You would be surprised how close they do come to big cities.....look at Michigan.....alot of the sightings there are near Detroit area.

Nice job with the map sailgirl.

Did you include sightings from "The W-Files" too? I understand Linda Godfrey has received more potential bigfoot related sightings in her on-going research on the Bray Road Beast so I'm anxious to see her "Book 2".
Lyndon, I agree that given what we think about bigfoot it's hard to imagine a sighting so close to Milwaukee, but I would add that the City of Milwaukee is surrounded by farms and forest. Pewaukee Lake, where the sighting occurred, is densely wooded in some areas. A bear was live captured and released in the wilds just yesterday from a close suburb of Milwaukee. There are deer even within the city limits and they are a real problem in the suburbs. Fox are seen regularly in the suburbs too. The Pewaukee sighting involved two witnesses who were sitting by the lake when they saw the alleged bigfoot and they observed it for a length of time in daylight so I think it contains more credibility than some reports. I don't think bigfoot is there all the time, but I think this particular case may have been one 'just passing through'.

Thanks Sail, I appeciate your answer.
Well, like you and Just Curious have pointed out then, there seem to be suitable terrain and country there for something like that to hide in and move about. The 'passing through' idea sounds likely.
If you come up with anything else of interest please post it. Pictures of the kind of area etc.

You could put a little red dot on the southwest corner in Dubuque IA on the border of IA, WI and IL. That's where
my sighting took place. It's was about 5 miles inland from the Mississippi River.
Wow, I used to take HWY 11 from Racine to Dubuque all the time when I was stationed at Great Lakes. I'd go through Lake Geneva, Delavan, Darien, Janesville, Monroe..... never thinking of looking. Now that I look at your map, I was traveling through some possible hotspots. Most of the area was farm country interspersed with heavily forested rolling hills. It was a great drive. I'm surprised there isn't more around the Geneva area.

I am trying to find a good WI topo map just for this purpose. People assume that WI is just farms and fields.....when in fact we have quite a bit of hills and forest lands. Not to mention some of the biggest swamp and marsh areas. Also many lakes and rivers. Very good BF habitat up north of the state as well as the central/West area of the state is also prime BF area. I will post my sightings on this map as soon as I can find one that will work for this. I will be continuing to update this as I become aware of more sightings. I have more sources to check.

It is a very good map. Are all of these actual sightings or are tracks found and noises heard included in this map?.. If so you can ad 3 in Presque Isle and 1 north of boulder junction. Both areas are in the northen middle of the state and are along the u.p. border. 2 are sightings and 2 are screams and howls. I could ad another one but that was a extreamly foul smell comming in thru an open kitchen window after dark. From how it was described to me I would have to say yes but it was a second hand report and I and my wife spent to nights in the woods after that with nothing unusual. I was also invloved in the one sighting and the screams. Also the migration theory is very likely. If you look at most of the reports there is a pattern of either early spring or late fall. I think wisconsin is a highway for them to enter the U.P. of michigan which if anyones been there there is a whole lotta nothing with a lot of rivers and streams flowing to lake superior. Also most fall sighting are right before or right after the first snow fall. They are definetly heading south before they can be easly tracked by the snow cover. If anyone is interested I will go into detail about my sighting and stuff at a later date. I was just cruising the site and came across this post and thought I would ad my input
