Has anybody else heard the reports of bigfoots being completely hidden by trees that are way to thin? Or of them simply disapearing with a shimmer? Usually you'd dismiss these but there have been quite a few of them. What could be the answer. Illusion, trickery, a combination of distraction-quick thinking and fast running, something else?

Much of the time its in the eye of the beholder. Many animals that are brown in color will blend into the foliage and shadows and "disappear". BF is known to have a wide stride, so it can move real quick.

I remember hearing one report of this woman who was riding a horse and when she saw the bigfoot disapear the horse just wigged out, so it couldn't have ALL been a halucination.

I've heard of some of this stuff. Here's my wildest theory about it.
There is at least one report of a Sasquatch screaming at a deer and the deer just standing there afterward, like it was stunned. If BF can do that to a deer, it can probably do that to you. If your brain gets knocked offline like that, time will pass without your awareness of it. Even when you are sleeping, you have a mental capacity to "count" time subconciously. Some people are able to wake themselves when they need to get up because this is so developed in them.
But if sasquatch stuns you in a way that disrupts your brain activity, you might go "offline" for a time and not realize it when you came back "online".
That is completely homegrown theorizing BS, and given that the account I mentioned above comes out of Thom Powell's book, maybe there's less than nothing to it. But if people think BF has teleported, I'd buy an "infrasonic stun blast" much quicker than I'd buy teleporting invisible BFs..
Here's an idea.. I once managed a pizza restaraunt and there was always a lot of loss.. This was in the township of Northridge in "the valley," so big surprise, right? Well, what if it was BF infrastunning all of us and making off with the pepperonis?
Man, I wish I had thought of that excuse when the boss showed up looking for a scapegoat..
"Dude, they're coming down out of the hills! Put in a security camera! I'm serious, duude!"
Naked Ape
Apr 25 2005, 06:55 PM
Well I read in a book of Thom Powell's that when people see a bigfoot and just freeze or something, it may be that bigfoot use infrasound, which can have a interesting affect on humans. Maybe they've figured that out.

The brain does its best to process the information it receives, but at times that information doesn't actually match what is happening, due to the brain attempting to fill in the blanks and smooth out the rough edges.

Yeah, the brain sees something that doesn't really fit into it's world view, so it takes a sec' to explain it to itself.

Well it wouldn't be teleportation though.
Obviously, BF is ripping the fabric of space to escape via one of the 7 unobserved dimensions given by string theory. Though those dimensions are supposed to be smaller than the eye can see.
So they aren't teleporting, they are shrinking and then running really fast through another dimension (which they have to do because they shrank so tiny..), then jumping out, growing, and then making
sure you see that they've just done that, but in a way that leads you to theorize that they are teleporting and taking orders from the aliens..

Small gray alien with bulbous eyes and a permanant sneer addresses a crowd of BFs.
"Alright my overstuffed hairy primitives.. Once again we need your assistance. One of you take this dimensional ripper and really do a number on a human or two. Who's in? Who's my main squatch? Hands?"
Assembled BFs look uncomfortably non-comittal. There is a general grumble.
"Ok, there's a case of Rese's Pieces in it for you.."
All hands shoot up and begin waving.
"Me! Me! Pick me!"
Later, on the mother ship, big gray has his legs up.
"Sure, they are difficult to work with, but they do work for peanuts.
Smithers-alien: "You mean, peanut butter cups, don't you sir?"
buh-bum boom splash!
Ok, so that wasn't so funny. Beats another post on the Manitoba thread, don't it? :help:

Yes, Bm has almost grasped the concept.

The human brain is a wonderous organic electrical "thing" still greatly unexplored.
The human defensive mechanisim is a greatly misunderstood thing indeed. if the eyes send signals to the brain, that the brain says "does not exist, therefore we will not see it" , then, the brain shuts down the signals that say "it's there". Then, the witness percieves it to vanish in thin air, or shimmer and disapear.
Does the animal in question actually DO this ? I think not. I believe that this is simply a "brain override" of the eye signals being sent to the brain. A self defence mechanisim that is overlooked by much of modern science , ... and BF investigators.
Thom may believe his witness, and back them fully, but does Thom understand the fuctions of the human brain when it comes to this occurence ? The witness may totally believe that the animal "shimmered, then vanished" , and that is what the witness "saw" , but is that really the case of what actually happened !?!?!?
I think not. I dont bash Thom or his witness, but i simply have a different theory on what occured.

I hate to sound arrogant, or elitist, but some people are stronger minded than others. Some can mentally handle the stress of seeing something that society says does not exist.
The weaker individual (not bashing a persons charecter, just a comment on the brains self defensive mechanisim) will blank out that which would otherwise overload the brain.
No big whoop.
