This one from 1964 is interesting...anyone hear of this 1950 Jim Carter disappearance near Ape Canyon...including a crazy ski trail left behind? blink.gif

On Wisconsin! Now I know the Seven-foot short-legged Hodag doesn't sound like good Ol Bigfoot, but I wonder just how these old logger's tales get started?...and couldn't they get distorted just a bit?

You know, much as literary critics will edit a collection of reviews for important writers, someone (and I nominate you) needs to edit together a collection of all these great newspaper articles you are gathering. I suppose there must really be thousands, so you could organize them into certain "groups" and select representative examples. Since most of the stuff you are finding is (or will be soon) in the public domain, there is little trouble with copyright.

Of course, it would only be of interest to researchers, so not likely to be a blockbuster, but still.. it really ought to be done.

I'm in the process of compiling these into a book now. I'm laying it out in Quark. These new posts are the files I'm just getting to now. If you go back a few pages, you can see photos of the "first layout" before I found a new cache. I will keep everyone posted as to it's status, I'm hoping I have something done in the next couple of months.

OK, next round of posts, then it's Go Pack! for me! biggrin.gif

Here's some "mysterious animal" finds...this first one is interesting...anyone ever see this episode?

Yes, big cats are probably out there too, but it seems people assume that any mysterious nocturnal hunter must be a "Panther" because Sasquatch isn't on their damn list! (IMHO) And yes, I saw the part about seeing a tail...could both be in the woods perhaps? new_evil.gif

I didn't know a Panther could "stand over a goat"...although I guess, on four legs it could be considered "standing?"

It'd be great if you kept it in loose leaf, 1 page/article format, so each individual can organize the articles by whatever logic they prefer.

Right now, I've got it organized State by state and chronologically within that. I'm thinking of including a straight chronological list at the end. I probably will bind it with a simple 3-hole punch. Other than that, I'd need a multi-media database online to do the right kind of search "clumping!"
