And another "general" story. Seemed to make the press a lot in the 70s...after the Patterson film.

QUOTE(Tirademan @ Oct 1 2004, 12:19 PM) Thanks Chronic, No Tirade, Thank YOU, this thread is cherry! Every article is a worthwhile printout and once collated, a choice addition to the 'squatch library. I've read the PDF isn't coming out really clear, will the members of this forum have access to your Quark file? Or, if you can get a choice printout yourself, would you be willing to copy/mail it out to interested (lazy) members for a reasonable time/effort fee? I basically had it all layed out...then I went searching for post 1956 stuff...DOH!!! I'm laying it out with some color pages, 2-sided. It's broken down A-Z state-by-state chronologically, so now I'll have to "rip it all apart" to include the new stuff. I'm almost afraid to keep searching! I just keep finding more! It was 118 pages...not sure how much the new stories will add, but I'm guessing 50 more pages. I was planning on trying to get a copy together to send to the TX conference later this month...we'll see! I think what you mentioned about copying a master is the most logical. It really does give you an interesting historical perspective when compiled. I'll keep you posted...but at some point, I'll actually have to get some design work done here for Sony! tirademan |

If you do put together a book, try to flag the items that were "previously unreported" (in the BF literature). If an item has been reported, maybe also mention where. These flags would add to the value of the collection.
Probably someone like Larry Lund (or some other real BFer who's very familiar with all the literature) could quickly do something like this, if he were asked to preview it. |

Probably someone like Larry Lund (or some other real BFer who's very familiar with all the literature) could quickly do something like this, if he were asked to preview it. That's a good idea Roger. I agree, it's kind of a hard thing for me to do alone. I've never heard of most of the pre-1940 reports (with a couple exceptions), but as you get into the 1950's-00's most of the newspaper stories have been seen by someone, but maybe not published. Also, mixing "first hand sighting reports" with "second hand stories" and "general information pieces" is something I'm wrestling with as well. I'm not really collecting all of the latest aritcles from the late 90's-00's as they have to do with stories, conferences and such that seem pretty current. If you have any ideas, please let me know! I can post a PDF preview that could be downloaded and looked at...my 118 pg PDF was 20mbs though, so broadband would help. And, as I said, I'd hopefully have something in time for the Texas conference, so it could be looked at there. After I get it compiled, I'll either update it, or just make another one! You can download a previous "PDF pamphlet" of strange and interesting stories I found at the Library of Congress here: www.mcclean.org ...and a few more I found...if only this one were true! tirademan

This is one of those reports that I feel probably started as a "legitimate" find, but which ballooned into farce by way of the skeptics explanations!

Lake monsters, panthers and Sasquatch!
As a side note...I've found MANY MANY MANY stories regarding lake/sea monster, panther, cougar, and possible UFO sightings in my searches for the hairy people... I just don't really have the time to save/organize/edit/chop it all...I'm just trying to focus as I'm already swamped! Anyway, if anyone has something SPECIFIC with dates names, etc. they want me to search the newspaper archives for, let me know... tirademan

Can we PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE refrain from a thread hi-jack? I'm posting these next 2 because I thought they provide some HISTORICAL background, not because I wanted to debate the merit of the very normal theories described!...end of tirade! tirademan
