QUOTE Researchers believe they have found recent Bigfoot print in Oklahoma
By SUSAN HYLTON World Staff Writer - Published: 5/27/2009 7:11 PM Researchers were able to make a cast of the print, which measured 15¾ inches long and 5 inches wide. HONOBIA — Researchers believe that a footprint they discovered over the weekend in the Kiamichi Mountains of southeastern Oklahoma is that of the elusive creature Bigfoot. D.W. Lee, global director of the Mid-America Bigfoot Research Center, said the print was discovered about five miles into the woods. They were able to make a cast of the print, which measured 15¾ inches long and 5 inches wide. “The toes were clearly visible on the cast after it was lifted up,” Lee said. In addition to tracks, Lee said they heard “vocalizations” in the woods that they recognize as the tell-tale mocking calls of Bigfoot. Whoop sounds, “attempted imitations” of whip-poor-wills, and mimicking of dove and owl calls were heard, he said. One crew member was hit by a rock during a night hike just moments after two large animals were spied through a night scope walking on two feet across a logging road. “A lot of people, it doesn’t really dawn on them when rocks land near them,” that Bigfoot could be responsible, Lee said. Lee and his crew are evaluating hundreds of photographs and hours of video recordings taken over the weekend by about 30 researchers. U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service biologist Scott Simmons said he has not been involved in any Bigfoot-seeking expeditions but that people are capable of collecting and analyzing data and have been doing so for years in fascination of the possibility of an unknown apelike species. “I’m not going to tell someone they did not see or did see something,” he said. |

Hi
attempted imitations” of whip-poor-wills, and mimicking of dove and owl calls were heard, Is there a way to tell if there is one animal mimicking another with out seeing it ? This seems a bit of a stretch to me Peace Tim |

wbh and I camped at Talihina State Park in SE OK on Tuesday May 12. We were the only campers that night, although there was a little gray mid-sized SUV parked at the head of the hiking trail, and it stayed there all night. I'm now curious if it wasn't DW and some of his group.
We were sitting around the camp at about 10:30 pm and heard what sounded distinctly like wood knocks. I had done a few knocks about three hours earlier while it was still light, but I didn't knock back. I don't know why. (Maybe it scared me?) It caught me off gaurd because maybe I don't really believe that I'm "lucky" enough to ever really encounter a bf. It's funny, also, that we kept hearing whipoorwills and I joked, "It's either whipoorwills or bigfoot imitating whipoorwills." There were three different ones calling at the same time from different locations. Too bad nothing threw a rock into the camp. I found out that I'm not as brave as I fancy myself to be. While we were sleeping, my husband hit his elbow on the side of the camper. It startled me awake and scared the crap out of me! I'm ashamed to say I was sooo relieved that it was him and not a bigfoot messing with us!! We'll keep trying though!! |

The MABRC was a long ways from Talihina Well, heck. I really should have knocked back then. To correct an error in my previous post: I should have written Talimena State Park rather than Talihina State Park. The town of Talihina is a little bit to the Southwest of the park. And if I'm googling right, both are several miles north of the Kiamichi Mountains, (not within knocking distance, I assume.) |

It's funny, also, that we kept hearing whipoorwills and I joked, "It's either whipoorwills or bigfoot imitating whipoorwills." There were three different ones calling at the same time from different locations. Whipoorwills are a night bird, I would highly expect more than one to be present. I can see it's funny as you joke about imitations and those whom claim without supportive backup that mimicry exists in Bigfoot communications, but I don't know what is funny about hearing whipoorwills at night Wiki on Whipoorwill Perhaps preconcieved notions without knowledge of the animals present in the area is a danger to thinking clearly about what the realities are. If you had gone without any prior knowledge of Bigfoot stories in this area, would you have been affected by the whipoorwill other than enjoying it's night call? |

Nice catch Bill, that's one of the funniest comment threads I've ever seen. I think this is the news article that the BFF "bulletmaker" thread is about Yes, and more specifically, Pywacket's post from another thread about a similar article: http://www.bigfootforums.com/index.php?sho...c=26495&hl= Here's the latest in this drama. From the comments section after this article in the Tulsa World. Report Comment bullet maker, Chelsea (5/24/2009 4:46:10 AM) OK, OK, enough is enough. I`m the one whose property this mabrc, has been bigfoot hunting on up here in Chelse. From the git-go, me and some of my friends, have been hoaxing these group of hunters from the day we first meet them, by faking the foot tracks, and hollering in the woods at night, to scare them. (course we hid behind trees, in case they went to shooting in the dark. We had alot of fun with these guys, watching them as they ran to their trucks to hide when we went to screaming and beating on trees. But now the joke has gotten out of hand, and these Idiots, have taken it to far by putting it in the paper. So all you good people of Tuls, this is the true story, THERE ARE NO BIGFOOTS OUT HERE AND NEVER HAVE. The owner. edit to bold comment |

I can see it's funny as you joke about imitations and those whom claim without supportive backup that mimicry exists in Bigfoot communications, but I don't know what is funny about hearing whipoorwills at night You're absolutely right, NWS. Being raised in the boondocks, I've grown up hearing whipoorwills my entire life, and I love to hear them (except when I'm trying to sleep with the windows open!) I didn't mean to imply that it was funny hearing them at night. I was amused at the comparison of my joking about it being bf and the article outright claiming what they heard was bf. We also heard what my dad calls 'hoot owls' a couple of nights later at a different location, and just being silly, I made the same joke. (I'm running low on my comedy material QUOTE Perhaps preconcieved notions without knowledge of the animals present in the area is a danger to thinking clearly about what the realities are. If you had gone without any prior knowledge of Bigfoot stories in this area, would you have been affected by the whipoorwill other than enjoying it's night call? I totally agree, and no, I would have still thought they were whipoorwills and probably would have made the same lame joke. |
