Thought I would drop in a note as to why the two threads were merged.

IMO, all newspaper stories that are Bigfoot or Sasquatch related belong in the Sub-Forum of News and Magazine Articles. Please do not post them under General Discussion. It makes it easier for Forum members to search for postings if they know where to look for them.

I have moved it to the proper location (again, in IMO).

Hey Tugboat...I was totally joking about being upset about the thread being moved. I was just playing along with Smitty. But thanks for the explanation anyway. new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

So ... Timmy ... (and vil, and Bitter Monk, and bigfootnis) you're saying this might not be a sasquatch at all!?!??! huh.gif Dadgummit!

Hi

What i am saying is i don't have a chance in Hell of even remotely guessing what those tracks are, Only thing that rings out to me is that they should be pretty stomped on looking coming from an animal of some 500 plus pounds and they don't

Peace

Not even a remote chance that these pics (Moricetown) are of sasquatch footprints. Anyone with experience in the winter wilderness of North America should dismiss these pics with a laugh.

The pic below was taken one year ago and shows my tracks on the left in knee deep snow...any guess's what made the tracks to the right of mine.

Your dog? A walking stick? Those are my two guesses, and I'm leaning toward stick.

Well since CuriousJ is the only one with a guess....and dog is a pretty good one I might add. The trackway is just one set of tracks from those left by a herd of elk. Identified as elk due to the droppings.

Of course there are those (BFRO...LOL) that would probably say it was a sasquatch following the elk herd.

...hmmm

Hi

I look at them and see no packed snow at all, If it was a BF i would think the tracks would be compressed and left some sort of an impression,

Peace
Tim thumbup.gif

Just chiming in here but snow has to be near the melting point or under a lot of pressure to actually compress.

Not jumping on you Tim, just your's was the first post to mention this thumbup.gif .

I've always wondered if it would be possible to forensically 'dig out' prints such as these to find out if there was a 'compressed' print at the bottom. You know, dig and brush away the snow until you found out what was below all the powder?

Maybe someone who still has powder snow in their yard can try this.

Coulda fooled me as well COGrizzly. Although there were no elk droppings directly on the trackway there were elk droppings around in the other trackways. Because of the melt out and drifting the impressions appear to be made by one foot but in reality there is two feet in each impression.

I will concede to the possiblility that a moose could have made the trackway but I could not find a clear enough track to confirm moose. Elk droppings was enough evidence for me to conclude that elk made the trackways.

All evidence supports elk...maybe I should have called them "The Skookum Tracks"...sorry, could'nt resist

Anything could have made that trackway.

Absolutely correct MooseMan...well, other than mice, squirrels, weasels, ravens...ha ha ha.

If a person is to suspect that trackways that appear bipedal are made by sasquatch then there must be thousands of sasquatch running all over the country side. If I was to stop and investigate every trackway that appears bipedal it would take me an hour to travel a mile.

That goes for tree breaks and bends as well.

CG and MM - I think the main point here is that we all should be very scrutinizing when we look at tracks in the snow. I think I tried to do the same thing with the "stotting Mulie" thread I had a while back.
