I have heard quite a few stories about skeletons, hair samples, blood samples disappearing, even an entire laboratory disappearing (in a recent thread).
For example; supposedly, in the 1990's there was a skeleton discovered in Florida, of which the skull cap was so large it could be put entirely over the head of the excavators. This skeleton was sent to a lab in Canada and they lost it. Please don't ask for proof that this is true, I'm just recounting one story I have heard. There is numerous accounts of these types of things happening. I would like to hear anybodies experience with this type of stuff. Archaeologists out there; does it happen often? Do laboratories just lose samples that are entrusted to them? I don't want to be a conspiracy theorist, but are all these occurrences just b.s. or is something amiss? |

I worked for a short time in asbestos abatement and hazmat identification. Part of a building inspection is taking pieces of floor tiles to see if they have asbestos. It is common for labs to lose specimens.
And if you don't believe me, tell me where JFK's brain went to. |

I would think that when your talking biological specimens, more care would be taken. Where these asbestos samples sent to a lab that also tested biological samples?

It's very common for all of those things to disappear when people are lying.

It unfortunately happened to me. I submitted six blind samples for testing. Everything was fine through the first two samples and communication was good. After that, nothing.

Do you mind sharing what you were having tested?

No, the labs I used were all certified and gov't approved (suppresses snicker), but none performed bio sampling. One would hope that they were just as scrupulous, since several of them performed tests on the rubble from 9/11 (again, snicker suppressed).

I'm really trying to avoid the 'conspiracy' thing but, if a lab is government approved it makes me wonder if that also means government censored. For instance, for a lab that tests asbestos from the trade towers; do government agencies or a specific government agency constantly review results from these labs and then approve the dissemination of the results? |

I'm going to give you the same answer I was given by the course instructor for my NYC building inspector class (so this is not even slightly hush-hush): "Tower Two was so f*****g loaded with asbestos, I figure a third of Manhattan will come down with asbestosis or mesothelioma in about 25 years."
No conspiracy needed. [And I hope my masking of the opprobrious adjective is suitable for the administrators.] Seriously. There was enough lead, mercury and asbestos in T2 that most of the cleanup guys will not be around for too long. No offense to those affected here. Just reporting what I was told in class by a certified industrial hygenist and another guy, my former boss, who reported directly to Guliani, during the hazmat cleanup. My dear and lost friend Fishbone35 had a hair sample he retrieved from a nail on under side of the roof of the porch from his mother-in-law's house in Alabama...
He sent it to an investigator with the BFRO... who promptly "lost" it... Whatever happened to it... who knows... but it was never returned, nor was it ever analyzed... as far as he could tell... Yet... this "investigator" is probably still wondering why he was dumped from the BFRO... My point is... whenever humans are involved... dumb s**t can and does happen... with no explanation... "Gee whiz" and "I dunno" don't put beans on the table homeboy... [edited clarify the location of the nail] This post has been edited by RB: Dec 31 2008, 01:44 PM |

Kevin - So the death toll continues to rise, you don't hear that info on the news - at least I haven't
RB - Is this the story in every instance! - we lost it, but were pretty sure it was inconclusive. |

Kevin - So the death toll continues to rise, you don't hear that info on the news - at least I haven't. This is a very serious subject, and I do not wish to make light of it. The death toll, as you put it, as a direct result of the attacks, will continue to rise, but the news will not report it for some time, as I said, due to the time elapse between the attacks and the incidents of asbestos and hazmat-associated diseases come into play. And as for "conspiracies"...I spent 4 years in Saudi Arabia (1996-2000), so don't even ask me who I think was responsible. I know who was responsible, and we have not been lied to (provided you overlook Bush's comment about "The Saudis are our friends."). My apologies to the administrators if this is too political. |

I have heard quite a few stories about skeletons, hair samples, blood samples disappearing, even an entire laboratory disappearing (in a recent thread). ... I should have thrown in a couple of "allegedies" in when I mentioned the disappearing lab over here, but the following quote is regarding the blood samples purportedly collected by the GCBRO in 2003 that disappeared. It's from this thread which has over 1,000 posts. I haven't read the entire thread so I'm unsure if it mentions why the results were never returned. I heard the vanishing lab story in October this year from GCBRO members who "were there." If I find a post that talks about that particular thing, then I will post it here. SFS said - "No man, their talking about the creature that Monster Hunter (aka Jim Lansdale) shot." Actually it wasn't Jim Lansdale that made the shot, it was another individual (and no, I don't recall the name)...And once again, I've yet to hear anyone make an official claim that the chromosone count came back 48...Rick Tullos stated at one point that he was confident that the chromosone count would come back 48 (i.e. primate equivelent), but I've yet to hear anyone say "yes, it came back 48" (this is how information gets muddled in the community and things get blown out of proportion)... For the record - I wasn't there...I'm only giving You the basic information that many of us recieved that attended the GCBRO BBQ earlier this year (the actual "shooting" occured in January of this year)...The initial DNA results came back "unknown" and the blood came back "primate type A" (i.e. related to either the Chimpanzee family or Orangutan family)...The samples were sent to private labs and are being tested out of Jim Lansdale's own pockets... That being said, for me personally, I can understand exactly why he's stated he'll release the entire information when all the data has been gathered and all the tests are done...Such information, should it turn out to be as is suspected, could be VERY important...Nothing personal people, but with such possible info could You blame the man for keeping it to himself?... As Lisa has stated before...Most researchers that have any evidence truely worthwhile, keep it to themselves until the proper time comes for it to be released... Smart chika that Lis...Respect her more with every passing day, I must confess... If people don't wish to believe the info Jim has released, hey, no biggie off my back...As for some suggesting that it's a hoax to keep "regular customers" paying their dues, I'd have to sincerely disagree...As the old saying goes, "3 men can keep a secret if two of them are dead"...This is quite relevent, being that there were nearly a dozen or so people at the hunt where this occured, and multiple people sighted the animal in some context (and for the record, not everyone sighted the animal through specialized scopes of some sort or another)... As for the question that was asked, "where were the samples found?"...One was found nearby the local of the shooting, the other was found in a field where the creature was seen, via scope, to sit down and "rest" for a few moments... Why wasn't it followed by whomever shot it?...Mainly, I'd guesstimate, because the shooter was 30ft up in a treestand and couldn't get down quickly enough...It wasn't just going to stand there, tap it's foot and say, "*clears it's throat*...Hey, I'm waiting down here...Could'ja get a move on it?"...After being shot, it took off like a bat out of hell (as I believe anyone who's ever been hunting would know most animals tend to do, if not mortally shot the first time)... Do I, personally, believe Jim and the other various GCBRO members claims of this having occured?...Yes, I do...Why?...I've spoken at length with them at the foresaid BBQ about this information, viewed the area where this occured (as did many others) and experienced evidence of activity on site (while in the company of others)...As of yet, everything claimed by Jim and the others has checked out, whereas a great many others in the last year haven't at all -period- (I'd hope You all can fill in the blank as to those I'm reffering to here)... Believe me...When people say "wait and see the evidence", I get irked too (pretty badly, I might add)...I suppose I just understand the reasoning behind this and know some of the info enough that this time it doesn't bug me as it does a great many others...But I do, personally, believe the info being obtained will turn out to be very positive for all in the end... *crosses his fingers*... |

Thanks Hopeful -
It really is interesting how the possible evidence for this subject seems to vanish. I have a hard time believing that everyone is lying. |

Kevin I used to do the same work as you. I worked in the oil and chemical industry in south east Texas for about 20 years. We tested for and removed asbestos, lead based paints etc.
I ALWAYS took more than one sample. One for the lab and another for the lab in case they lost it and one stored and secured for future reference if need be. The labs lost samples more than once. I would say that after changing contracts four times in eleven years because of lost samples that it is fairly common. I agree with your assessment of future victims. I just wonder how often things get lost that are of biological nature? I know that a lab in my state bungled a very high profile murder case because they lost the dna evidence to link the woman to the murder. So it does happen. |
