I had an idea after hearing a story the night I went out to a local area for an overnight recently. Here it is. What I'm thinking of doing is posting a flyer in this area asking for reports and stories from the locals about any potential Sasquatch activity. What I will do is come up with a place, a date and a time where folks could come and pass along any info they may have. I'm thinking of just a once-a-year thing, or maybe not even that often. Still haven't worked out all the details yet.
Would something like this be useful in gathering info? Would weeding out the baloney be worth any new info we could gain? I'd appreciate hearing your thoughts and opinions. |

Perhaps a bit of clarification is in order. I will go out to this area of interest about a month before the actual session and post flyers asking for folks to share any stories or information they may have. I'm thinking of setting up at the local library on a Saturday. I will audio record all the interviews, and ask just a a few questions. What Im hoping for is to be able to see some sort of pattern. Sure I'll get second and third-hand stories, but if even these show some sort of pattern such as coming from a certain area or in a certain time of year, that will give me some sort of starting point.

It might be a good way to find something interesting. If I'd seen a squatch, I'm not sure I'd show up and tell my story to a complete stranger. I would think most people would not trust that situation.
I am pretty sure that all the local loonies will think it's a great time to tell you all their stories. Might not get much worth having. Just my $.02. 17x7 |

I've actually thought of doing this before myself. Never got around to it though.

Yup, I thought of that, folks who dont know me telling their story. But, what I'm hoping is that I'll get more folks teling stories that they've heard and not really experienced themselves. Although, I may get some people with personal experiences that that would be happy to talk and not get laughed at. I really don't know what will happen unless I give it a try.
I'm not sure of the value of second, third, or twenty-seventh hand stories, but it's worth a shot. At the worst, I'll have hours of useless audio tape, and will have lost a half tank of gas. But I'll take the hit for the cause. |
