If this is offensive to anyone I sincerely apologize but I was wondering if the odor of human menstrual blood could be used to attract a BF? If so, what about setting out a paper bag with used Kotex pads in it? (no rude remarks please).

Hmmm... I think that's been tried on several occasions that I've heard of... not certain if there were any reportable results though... but it's a valid question... a question I like to hear some responses to also...
I will tell you I know of at least one occasion where a guy put out a bag of his dirty underwear... and the only reportable results were of nausea of those downwind from that stinky bag... yuck... I'd advise against that experiment... p.u.... |

If I remember correctly, Dahinden's book described this type of "bait"being used by some of the players in the hunt for the Bossburg cripple.

Menstruation typically signifies the end of the fertile period; hence I don't think Bigfoot would be attracted from a reproductive standpoint. Most primates have sex for reproduction only and have limited periods of estrus (heat).
Somewhat of an exception are these little horn-dogs..... http://www.blockbonobofoundation.org/ (Disclaimer: I do not necessarily agree with the political tone of this website) I know this may not sound kind, and I'm not trying to be offensive, but menstrual odor is not a pleasant one and there is probably sound reproductive/biological sense/reason to that. Kinda makes a person wonder just how one would go about finding stuff like that. Do you just go to Google and type in wild monkey sex?? :new_whistle: (don't get mad, I'm just joking with you). I can also remember seeing a TV program ( Arthur C Clarke's Mysterious World....I think...) on the sasquatch that also included a portion of a newscast that featured some dude climbing up a ladder to tie some used tampons to a tree limb. My initial reaction when seeing this was: "You've gotta be kidding...."
K, I think your question is a legit one, however I just thought it rather humorous that some one would elect to spend their proverbial "fifteen minutes", Kotexing a tree one the evening news...... |

WOW, I thought of this awhile ago, just didnt follow up on it. Another idea I had was gathering female urine. With said female urine a person could concentrate on a few specific areas. Maybe near water, so someone could place a few well placed camera-traps. I think that the only place camera-traps would work is around running water to mask the sound of the camera-traps.

You might want to ask DDA how successful pheromone chips have been. |

My favorite quote from that site: QUOTE(Block Bonobo Foundation) Give the ladies some respect, and get plenty of sex, all year ‘round. Oh, to be a bonobo in a decent zoo somewhere. All joking aside, I hadn't considered that fact that menstruation marks the end of the cycle. Anyhow, I'm not convinced of menstuation being a bf attractant, reports of women encountering squatches at time of menstruation notwithstanding. I kinda think cooking up some bacon on the campfire would be an even better attractant. Food comes before sex in the survival game. |

Yes, seems like we've been through this one before. Nothing to show for it. I'd hate to be the one carrying the menstrual fluids to the field. YUCK! :new_weirdsmiley: Who are you going to get the sample from?

On several occassions, my group was out in the boonies and some of the ladies in the group would need to go behind a bush, two of those times, the ladies were menstrating, and within several minutes we heard vocalizations each time. The area we were in is frequented by what we suspect is a breeding female. My opinion on it, a female bigfoot probably smelled female competition, (regardless if it was human) and was screaming a warning our way. Would a male bigfoot be attracted by it, maybe out of curiosity from the smell of blood. JMHO

Watched the movie "Sasquatch" over the week end. One of the ladies in that flick was dragged something like 30 feet because she was menstrating.
Of course that is Hollywood. In reality ....... I would suggest to stick with the pheromone chips. They might be more effective. I am only speculating because I have never used them. Perhaps, anyone who has been on expeditions and have used them can elaborate on them. |

I think fresh beef liver would do better.I don't think the used tampons would be very effective the only thing I have seen attracted to a menstruating women was my grampa's old billy goat.He would actually chace my wife around until she would leave the pen.

Bear studies have shown that female menstruation is not a factor in attacks or attraction, I highly doubt it would affect a bigfoot, nor would bigfoot want to mate with human females.

Bear studies have shown that female menstruation is not a factor in attacks or attraction, I highly doubt it would affect a bigfoot, nor would bigfoot want to mate with human females. To be fair Bears and BF would be completly different species as Bears are not even hominids or even apes for that matter. Having said that however our closest relatives have not being observed as being obsesed to the point of trying to mate with humans. The only times I've heard of such a thing has been in Borneo where sometimes a horny Orang would try to clutch a woman but this encounters don't last very long and it never goes beyond the Oran leaving a very frightened chick behind. :new_thumbsupsmileyanim: No seriously even if BF got a bit horny and cvurious fact is and remains that mating would be all but impossible. As for menstrual blood working, I think is more likely you will atract a predator than a BF with that. It is blood we are talking about after all.. So instead of BF you will more likely be facing a mountain lion! :new_lmaosmiley: |
